Why a Newsletter?

PROPRIUS is eager to reach all its members and keep them up-to-date with the work of the organisation. Education and training in Operating Department Practice is undergoing vast changes and PROPRIUS is working closely with all groups involved in these changes, among whom is the professional body for ODPs, the Association of Operating Department Practitioners (AODP) and the Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP).

Many of our members attend the Annual Conference held every November and the Education Forum held each March. However, we appreciate that not all members will be able to attend events such as these on a regular basis. It is also true that between these two events much may change. Consequently, the PROPRIUS Committee feels that a newsletter will allow us to reach many more members, more regularly.

Members are encouraged to raise questions and to voice their concerns through the newsletter, which is issued on at least three occasions a year. The newsletter is distributed via member centres who will be able to distribute copies to their partner hospitals.
